Fifth- and sixth-graders at KES have the opportunity to join the Kimball band program. No prior musical experience is necessary, and any student with an interest in music is encouraged to join. An informational meeting for all interested students and their parents will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, in the elementary school Experience Room. Discussion at the meeting will focus onthe band program and what it has to offer each student. Instrument rental will also be discussed. Children can sign up for a time to sit down and try each instrument. Together students, parents and band instructor Keith Haake will decide what instrument is best suited for the student. Trial times will be later in the week; please be prepared to sign up for a half-hour slot. Attending this informational meeting does not commit your child to band participation. Please come and hear what the instructor has to say, ask some questions and make an informed decision. It is very important that a parent accompany students to both the meeting and the trial time.
