Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanton, N.D. Burial will be in the cemetery in Stanton. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud, with Holy Cross Lutheran Church prayers at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be at the Seibel Funeral Home in Hazen, N.D., from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 17, and one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
James E. Grannis was born December 29, 1963, in Hazen, N.D., to James and Shirley (Piatz) Grannis. He graduated from high school in Stanton, N.D., in 1982. He worked for Schwarz Construction, Krause SuperValu and the Dakota Gasification Plant. After graduating from the Wahpeton State School of Science, James worked at several auto body shops, Northern States Power in Becker, and in the maintenance department at New Flyer Industries in St. Cloud. Jim married Linda (Sabanish) Holte June 7, 2003, in St. Cloud. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Boy Scouts.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents Byron and Laverne Grannis.
He is survived by his wife Linda of Clearwater; son Jordan Grannis of Becker; step-daughters Jessi Holte of St. Joseph and Jill Holte of Kimball; parents Jim and Shirley Grannis of Stanton, N.D.; brother Joseph (and Dawn) Grannis of Stanton, N.D.; grandparents Joe and Stella Piatz; and nieces Amber and Tiffany.
