Janyce Fischer of Clearwater died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at her home of 51 years surrounded by her loving family. She died at age 69 after a long battle with cancer.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball with Rev. Dave Milz officiating. Interment followed in the Fair Haven Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and one hour prior to services at the church. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Janyce Brown Fischer was born Oct. 13, 1934, in St. Cloud to Earle E. and Mary Ellen (VanNurden) Brown. She married W. Wayne Fischer June 2, 1951, in Fair Haven. She was a homemaker and was employed by Sun Plastics retiring in 1996. Janyce was baptized in the Church of Christ in Kimball and confirmed in Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven. She was a member of the Fair Haven Lioness Club and former member of Concordia Ladies’ Aid. She enjoyed her family, collecting Beanie Babies, sewing, crocheting, gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.
Janyce was preceded in death by her sister Wanda Gillis, daughter-in-law Eirene, and brother-in-law Fillmore Hewitt.
She is survived by her husband W. Wayne of Clearwater; children and their spouses: Mick (and Mary) Fischer of Kimball, Wendy (and Art) Gwin of Redmond, Ore., Larry (and Sara) Fischer of Clearwater, Barb (and Lyle) Lingofelt of Cold Spring, Sandy (and David) Loch of Grand Rapids, Ron (and Celia) Fischer of Little Falls; brothers and sisters, and their spouses: Neal (and Harriet) Brown of St. Louis Park, Rheba (and Delbert) Holm of Kimball, Calvin (and Louella) Brown of Palisade, Betty Jean (and Merlin) Pickle of Eden Prairie, brother-in-law Neal Gillis of Osakis; 18 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
