Jeff Hunt of Kimball has received a $500 scholarship from the FarmHouse Fraternity at the University of Minnesota for the 2007-2008 academic year. FarmHouse Fraternity received 37 applications from students across the states of Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Wisconsin and even as far as Texas. Eligible students must be planning to attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus and have above a 3.5 high school grade point average. Selection criteria included academic performance, leadership achievement, athletic involvement and an interview with the scholarship committee. After two weekends of interviews, the committee selected 15 recipients to receive nearly $10,000 to support their academic pursuits. All 15 scholars have been invited to attend the FarmHouse Fraternity Annual Awards Banquet Aug. 18, where they will be presented with their checks, recognized for their accomplishments and have the opportunity to hear from the keynote speaker. FarmHouse Fraternity is an international social fraternity founded in 1905 at the University of Missouri. True to the FarmHouse motto “Builder of Men”, the fraternity seeks to build men with a fourfold development by encouraging growth in the Intellectual, Physical, Social/Moral and Spiritual aspects of their lives.
