Jerald Bennett of Buena Park, Calif., formerly of the Kimball and Litchfield areas, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, of Alzheimers. He was 88.
Per his request, no service will be held as he had his body donated to the USC Anatomical Gift Program. Once his remains are received they will be buried in Maine Prairie Cemetery near Kimball with other family members.
Jerald J. Bennett was born the first child to Alvin “Rusty” and Mildred Bennett in St. Cloud Feb. 6, 1929. Jerald spent his youth in the Kimball and Litchfield areas, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1945. Jerald lived in the Twin Cities and worked on the railroad as an engineer, and had real estate holdings before moving to Los Angeles in 1964. He continued in these endeavors there and as the family patriarch, assisted other family members in business ventures.
Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, son Alvin, brothers Gene, Glenn, and Frank.
He is survived by sister Betty (and Fred) Gross, and brothers Bob, and Gary (and Dorie), and 12 nieces and nephews.
