Jerry Kielty of Watkins died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at his home. He was 61. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Forest City with Rev. Richard Gross officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Jerry was born July 24, 1942, in Forest City Township, to Gerard “Jiggs” and Olive Ann (Rohrbeck) Kielty. He married Marna Rae Jacobson Feb. 9, 1963, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Jerry hauled milk and gravel and owned his own construction business for more than 40 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gambling and collecting agates. Jerry was preceded in death by his father Jiggs, son John, and step-father Lester Haines. He is survived by his wife Marna; children Karen (and Mike) Redlin of Litchfield, Richard (and Kay) Kielty of Watkins, Dennis (and Stephanie) Kielty of Watkins, Michael Kielty and fiancee Missy Johnson of Watkins; mother Olive Ann Kielty-Haines of Forest City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother Bernie (and Julie) Kielty of Watkins; and nieces and nephews.
