The Kimball Cubs traveled to Litchfield to take on the Dragons Thursday, Jan. 3. The Cubs started the game scoring the first points with Matt Eich connecting on a three pointer. The Cubs then were unable to get any offense and fell behind 10 to 3. However they were able to find some easy baskets led by Logan Silbernagel, who had back-to-back nice finishes at the rim which helped bring the Cubs back, and went into halftime only down 3 with the score 20 to 23. In the second half, the Cubs struggled to stop Litchfield’s hot shooting and were unable to keep up the offense and eventually fell to Litchfield 41 to 55. Scoring for the Cubs was led by Logan Silbernagel 21, Jack Knaus 6, Simon Stang 5, Hunter Hickman 4, David Baker 4, Matt Eich 3.
Kimball Cubs played at Spectrum Thursday, Dec. 20. The first half was a back-and-forth game as both teams were unable to take a big lead in the game. The Cubs were able to get 11 points in the half from Jack Knaus that helped take 27 to 24 lead into halftime. The second half, the Cubs came out ready to play and were able to dominate the ball inside. The Cubs got some big help down low from Simon Stang and Hunter Hickman as the Cubs took advantage of their size, and ran away with the game in the second half to go on and win by a final score of 52 to 38. Cubs scoring was led by Jack Knaus 11, Hunter Hickman 9, Noah Young 8, Logan Silbernagel 8, Riley Albers 7, Tyler Stang 3, Simon Stang 2, Matt Eich 2.
Kimball Cubs hosted Annandale Cardinals Tuesday, Dec. 18. The game started out close as teams traded baskets. The Cubs were able to spread the ball in the first half as they had seven different players score. However, Annandale’s tough pressure caused the Cubs to turn the ball over, and went into half down 12 to 26. The second half, the Cubs continued to struggle against the pressure from Annandale and were unable to find a rhythm on offense, and would fall 23 to 60. Scoring for the Cubs was Jack Knaus 6, Logan Silbernagel 6, Hunter Hickman 3, Noah Young 2, David Baker 2, Riley Albers 2, Tyler Stang 2.
