The weather started off on a shaky note last Thursday, April 20, when K/EV-W traveled to Pierz. But throughout the meet, the weather improved and so did the golf team. After the first meet, the K/EV-W boys sit atop the conference with a team aggregate score of 179, coming in two points lower than Pierz with a 181. Individual meet medalist was Kimball?Äôs Nathan Vossen, posting an impressive 40. Other highlights of the day included Adam Sandquist, coming in with a 41, and Drew Gustafson, shooting a 44. Gustafson had two birdies on the day, chipping in on a par 3, and making an amazing long putt for his second. Jack Bates and Grant Kahlstorf came in with
54s, and Branson Jensen shot a 63. The boys compete in the pre-section tournament on Monday, April 24, at Blackberry in Sartell; a home conference meet on Thursday, April 27; and they finish off the week in LPGE for an invitational Friday, April 28.
?ÄúWe look forward to keeping the momentum we have started with over the next busy couple of weeks. We have a strong team this year, and can only build on the success of this first meet. With how well we are golfing as a team, I see that conference title within our grasp,?Äù said Coach Zach Boser.
