K-EV-W boys?Äô golf team edges out Pierz

The boys took first place in an 18-hole invitational golf outing at Long Prairie on Friday, April 28, finishing two shots better than rival Pierz. As is almost predictable this time of year, Mother Nature cast a chilly blanket on the proceedings, but the golfers persisted and played some respectable rounds. Individual medalists for the team were Drew Gustafson (88) and Nathan Vossen (92) taking first and third, respectively. The team came away with a first place finish of 383, beating out Pierz by two strokes. Other highlights of the day included birdies for Vossen and Gustafson and a ?Äúnear?Äù ace for Grant Kahlstorf, who shot a 101. Branson Jensen finished with a 131, and the JV squad?Äôs Evan Thielen shot a 163. Team Scoring: 1) K-EV/W, 383; 2) Pierz, 385; 3) LPGE/Brow, 400; 4) Osakis, 429.

?ÄúThe boys and girls team will host our home conference meet next Thursday, May 4, at the Kimball Golf Club. The team is looking strong, and the momentum is building for a fantastic rest of the season,?Äù said Coach Zach Boser.
