KAHS art show winners

Kimball Area High School has announced its annual art show winners. These artists have the privilege to take their pieces to the sixth annual Section 5A Visual Arts Festival that will be held on Wednesday, April 4, at New London-Spicer Middle School. There will be a total of 23 schools in attendance that day. Representing Kimball are 11 students that will compete in six categories. Advancing in the media arts category was Morgan McKee with his second-place piece called “Enter the Green,” and Joelle Wysoski with her first-place piece entitled “Quilt Questions.” Advancing in the drawing category is Adrian Koistinen with her second-place piece entitled “Little Girl,” and Lindsey Ostby with her first-place piece entitled “Beautiful.” Nick Donnay’s first-place piece called “Armor,” and Morgan McKee’s second-place piece called “Burton’s Christmas Tree,” will represent the sculpture category. Representing the crafts category are second-place winner Justin Ring with his piece called “4 Wheeler,” and Sammi Stewart-James with her first-place piece entitled “Peacock God.” Justine Ruehle will represent the painting category with her second-place piece called “The Dark side,” and Megan Kammermeier will also represent painting with her first-place piece called “Roxanne.” The final category is printmaking and Catherine Jurgen’s piece “Reflection,” and Chelsie Colwill’s first-place piece “Hidden” are advancing to the section competition.
