The Knights of Columbus Insurance Company recently recognized Jean A. Kappel of Winsted as a top-producing agent for the year 2003. Of 1,200 agents with the Knights in the United States and Canada, Kappel was in the top 20 percent during the past year. Kappel and his wife Jan were honored during a national award ceremony in April that recognized agents serving their councils with their insurance needs. He works with Kimball, Darwin, Hutchinson, Silver Lake and Winsted Knights of Columbus Councils. Kappel has been an agent with the Knights of Columbus for 13 years. The Knights of Columbus Insurance Company is the largest Catholic fraternal insurance company in the United States and Canada with more than 1.6 million members.
