Kathryn Peterson of Watkins died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at her home. She was 58.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 13, at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins with Msgr. Francis Garvey officiating. Interment will be in the Stony Run Lutheran Cemetery in Granite Falls.

Kathryn M. Peterson was born March 5, 1951, at San Leandro, Calif. to Caleb and Kathryn (Crosby) Lund-Eide. She was the step-daughter of Sivert Eide. July 18, 1970, Kathryn married Duane Peterson at Bergen Lutheran Church in Montevideo. The resided in Watkins and Kathryn was employed at Animal Fair in Eden Valley for three years. She then became the bookkeeper for the Watkins Ambulance Service until the present time. Kathryn was especially proud of her son Jonathan, who has been active in the U.S. Army since 2001, and is currently stationed in Afghanistan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson Patrick and she was an avid football fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father.

Kathryn is survived by her husband Duane Peterson of Watkins; son Jonathan stationed in Afghanistan (and Julie) of Eden Valley; step-mother Pat Eide of Minneapolis; brothers Michael (and Jane) Lund of Jacobson, and Robert (and Vikki) Lund of Phoenix, Ariz.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Eldon and Betty Peterson of Granite Falls; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law David and Kathy Peterson of Clarkfield, Diane and Dan Klein of Willmar, Denise and Brent Severson of Niceville, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Dorothy Hierlmaier of Watkins.

Memorials are preferred to the Watkins Ambulance and Rescue Service equipment fund.
