Kenneth Belanger of Waite Park, formerly of Kimball, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park. He was 86.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Crystal Hills Assembly of God Church near Paynesville, with Rev. Lonnie Gleitz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the service in the Paynesville Cemetery.
Kenneth Ovid Belanger was born June 10, 1917, to Joseph and Ella (Haroux) Belanger of Crosby. He grew up and attended school in Crosby and later graduated from St. John’s University in Collegeville. Kenneth was married to Kathleen Kelly on May 17, 1943, in St. Cloud. The couple lived in various communities including St. Cloud, Yankton, S.D., Blythe, Calif., and Minneapolis. They moved to Kimball in 1986 and have lived in Waite Park for the past two months. Kenneth was an accountant for several years before teaching at the Dunwoody Institute and St. Paul Vo. Tech. School. He enjoyed gardening, yardwork and working in his home.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen; sons Kenneth Jr. of Maple Grove, Stephen of Eagan, and Kelly of Brooklyn Center; daughter Mary Kay of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters Lucille Rathe of St. Cloud and Odile Belanger of St. Cloud; and brother Stephen (and Ethel) Belanger of Camarillo, Calif. Arrangements were made with Johnson Funeral Home of Paynesville.
