As fifth- or sixth-grade students at Kimball Elementary School, these young people have the opportunity to join the Kimball band program. No prior musical experience is necessary and we encourage all students with an interest in music to join our band.
There will be an informational meeting for all interested students and their parents at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the Elementary School Experience Room. At this meeting, we will discuss what the band program is all about and what it has to offer each student. We will also discuss instrument selection, rental programs, and have parents sign up for a time when the student can actually try each instrument, and together we can decide which instrument the student is best suited for. These “trial times” will be held between 3:30 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, so please be ready to sign up for a time slot.
This meeting in no way commits students to anything, so even if you or your child are unsure about joining band, please come and gather some information so you can make an informed decision. It’s very important that a parent is with the student at both the meeting and try-out.
We hope to see you the evening of Sept. 21, but, if you cannot attend, please contact Mr. Haake at (320) 398-7700, ext. 119, or e-mail at keith.haake@kimball.k12.mn.us, and we’ll work out a solution.
