The Kimball 10U Softball Teams completed their season Saturday in the Hutchinson Crow River Tournament Gold division. The 10U (10-years of age and younger) age group was divided into two teams, Kimball Cubs Blue, and Kimball Cubs Gold, and posted a combined league record of 20-1-2. Neither team was defeated by another community in the regular season.
The Kimball Gold Team began the tournament by losing to Watertown Blue 9-3, then defeated Eden Valley White 8-7, and were defeated in their final game of the day by Buffalo Lake, Hector, Stewart 5-1 and finished in sixth place. The Kimball Gold team was 9-1-2 overall in regular season play with a second-best overall record out of 18 teams.
The Kimball Blue Team began the tournament by defeating Buffalo Lake, Hector, Stewart 1-0 in extra innings, then were defeated by Brownton 3-2 also in extra innings, finally the Blue Team was defeated in their final game of the day by Watertown Blue 5-1 and finished in fourth place. The Blue Team was 11-0 overall in regular season play earning the best over-all record out of 18 teams.
