The Kimball 10U Fallball (softball) competed in the Tier 1 State Tournament Sept. 29 in Rosemount. The team consists of 14 Kimball girls that qualified by age for the 10-and-under division. The team competed over the prior four weeks and finished with a solid record of 7-1. This record placed them in the Tier 1 tournament with the top 16 teams (out of 176) in the state.
Kimball began the day by defeating Roseville Black 5-3. This was a well-played, six-inning game with solid hitting, good pitching, and good defense by both teams. In the final game, Kimball was defeated by the White Bear Lake Bears (the eventual state runners-up) 13-7.
