Kimball Area High School has added Girls Swimming to their fall sports. Kimball has started a co-op with St. Cloud Tech High School. We currently have a seventh-grade student who is swimming for Tech High School. The participant is responsible to provide transportation to the school each day, but it does give our students the opportunity to participate in the sport. The addition of another girl?Äôs sport will open up the opportunity to join Eden Valley-Watkins in boys?Äô cross country next season. Title nine prevents schools from offering more boys?Äô sports than girls?Äô sports.
This winter the activities department is working on a cooperative agreement with Annandale for Nordic skiing. The co-op would include Kimball, Annandale, Maple Lake, Litchfield, St. Michael, and New London-Spicer. The schools have already signed the agreement, now we just need to co-op to be approved by MSHSL board. Kimball is also exploring gymnastics as another sport to add as a co-op sport. The cooperative sports agreement with neighboring districts is a great opportunity for Kimball students. The ability to join with other schools gives our students opportunity to participate that we would not have normally in a smaller community. We are very fortunate for these opportunities.
