The Kimball Senior Scholarship Organization held their annual Dessert Dash and Awards Ceremony Wednesday, May 3, in the Kimball Area High School cafetorium.
For the Dessert Dash, scholarship recipients brought a dessert to be chosen by a table winning the highest auction bid. The Dessert Dash auction raised more than $3,800 which will be used to fund next year’s scholarships.
The Awards Ceremony immediately followed the Dessert Dash. There were 33 scholarship recipients this year. Each student received at least $500 with a grand total of nearly $29,000 awarded throughout the evening from Kimball Senior Scholarship Organization.
Independent scholarships also were awarded at the Awards Ceremony. Independent scholarships were from Royale B. and Eleanor M. Arvig Memorial, which was awarded to Olivia Mortenson; Louis Roberg Trust, which was awarded to Christopher Erickson; Meeker County Farm Bureau was awarded to Brett Schiefelbein; and Wat-Kim-Valley V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 5460 was awarded to Izaak Theis.
Honor cords were awarded to deserving Class of 2023 graduates: Morgan Streit, Katheryn Donnay, Jackson Fink, Brielle Kangas, Carter Lommel, Jordyn Donnay, Kristen Hilbert, Jenna Christinsen, Austin Kunkel, Izaak Theis, Bryce Lindberg, Ryan Serbus, Ava Dahlinger, Kylie Kesanen, and Landon Groover-Nelson.
The Kimball Senior Scholarship Organization would like to thank everyone who helped support our mission this year. With the community’s support, we were able to reach our goal of awarding each applicant with a scholarship.
The Kimball Senior Scholarship Organization consists of volunteer committee members. New volunteers are welcome to join us at our monthly meeting. More information can be found on the Kimball School’s website or their Facebook page.
