Kimball Area Theater to present spring play ‘Clue,’ April 4-6
Do you have any clue what you plan on doing this weekend? The Kimball Area Theater may be able to help solve your problem.
After nearly three months of rehearsals, the Kimball Area Theater will present its 2025 spring play, “Clue,” April 4-6 in the Kimball High School Cafetorium. The April 5 shows also will feature a dinner theater option. Notably, the play is based on the board game “Clue.”
Attendee information
Adult show tickets cost $15, and senior and student tickets are $10. Children ages 5 and younger are admitted free. All meal and show tickets will be sold at the door, as there are no pre-sold tickets.
The play’s opening night begins at 7 p.m. Friday, April 4.
The next day, Saturday, April 5, the theater program will feature two shows: one at 1 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m.. Both of these shows will offer a dinner theater option, served one hour prior to each show (12 p.m. and 6 p.m.); the deadline to sign up for the dinner was April 1. Those attending one of the April 5 shows are not required to order dinner.
Each dinner theater plate costs an additional $10 on top of the show ticket price. Children ages 5 and younger eat free. (Sign-up by April 1 was required for dinner.)
Speaking of the food, the dinner theater meal will include: Mustard Dijon Chicken (savory chicken with a hint of mystery), red-hot roasted potatoes, guilty green beans, sinfully sweet white chocolate and peach cake, Mrs. Peacock’s posh pear and pecan salad, plum punch concoction, and The Butler’s brew (classic iced tea – a safe choice … or is it?). Rachel Kuebelbeck is serving as the dinner theatre chef.
Finally, the Sunday, April 6, matinee will begin at 2 p.m.
The doors open one hour before each show time. Individuals are being asked to park in the south lot and enter door #10.

Behind the scenes
The cast and crew of “Clue” began its rehearsals the week of Jan. 13. The play was open to -seventh- to twelfth-grade students. Director Kenzie Traurig, technical director Isabelle Miller, and student director Lakatia Zimmerman helped lead these students.
“Besides some bad weather days causing us to cancel,” Traurig said via email, “rehearsals have been going very well.”
Traurig has enjoyed seeing these students’ improvement from day one.
“I always enjoy watching the kids grow from start to finish. They work so hard starting at auditions and then put so much time and effort into the process,” Traurig said via email. “I really enjoy watching all the hard work they’ve put into a show pay off.”
They had many students come out to participate, making this upcoming show “special,” according to Traurig .
“What’s really special about this show is that we had to -double cast because of the amount of kids we had audition,” Traurig said via email. “Each cast brings something different to the stage, and it’s really fun to watch.”
