Kimball area’s 45th Annual Youth Wrestling Tourney pinned for Jan. 20-21

The Kimball Wrestling Booster Club, partnered with Kimball Area Community Education, is set to host its 45th Annual Youth Wrestling Open Tournament on Jan. 20-21, at the Kimball Area High School.

The 10-team tournament is scheduled for Jan. 20, while the individual competitions (ages Preschool-6th grade) will take place on Jan. 21. The Cubs are anticipating 200 youth wrestlers for the team tournament, and 350 youth wrestlers for the individual tournament.

Weigh-ins and skin checks will begin at 8:30 a.m. on both days, with wrestling competition starting at 10 a.m. on both days.

Parking is located on both the north side (enter door #2) and south side (enter door #10) of the facility at 100 Highway 55 W. in, -Kimball. 

Admission will be at both doors (#2 and #10). Adults are $5 each and students are free (18 years of age and younger). Concessions will be available in the Cafetorium (cash or check only for admission and concessions).

Age groups: Preschool through 6th-grade.

Format: Folk style, four wrestler brackets (when possible), round robin, three 1-minute periods with overtime if needed, and MSHSL rules apply. Wrestlers will be paired by grade, age, weight, and ability when possible.
