On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Kimball traveled to Holdingford to take on the Huskers in conference play. Kimball struggled to score on the offensive end all game in which Holdingford took over and won 45-30. The bright spots for the Cubs were Sam Scheeler’s 15 points and Eric Nystrom’s 10 points to lead the way on offense. Bobby Arens and Andy Dingmann each scored a field goal, with Pat Libbesmeier going one for two from the charity stripe to round out the scoring. The young Cubs played hard all game and played aggressive on defense right to the final buzzer. Others contributing with great effort, but not finding themselves in the scoring colum, were Travis Erickson and Stephen Kurkosky. Because of the recent snowstorms, the Cubs final two games against Albany and Maple Lake were cancelled, thus giving the team a 7-14 season record, with much improvement throughout the season. Congratulations go out to all those who participated this year. There was a huge commitment made by these young players, and all of them improved immensely during the year. Good luck to all of these student athletes in the offseason.
