Kimball baseball results

May 7, 2007 Kimball 6 – Pierz 7 Kimball pitcher Matt Dingmann pitched six innings of tied ball and reliever Adam Magnuson came in to pitch three more, but Kimball lost in the bottom of the ninth on a bases loaded squeeze play with one out. We played a good game all around. We hit well. Guys who came in to pitch hit did their job, pitch runners stole bases and scored in key situations and more importantly, we didn’t have any errors. This was just one of those games that felt it was going your way till a fluke play happens. Kimball batting: Kurt Kuechle 1-1 2 RBIs, Jeff Hunt 3-5, Adam Magnuson 2-5 2 RBIs, Karl Hunt 2-3 3 SB. Record 3-11 May 8, 2007 Kimball 3 – BBE 4 Adam Magnuson pitched a Kimball-dominated game up till the bottom of the seventh. Kimball was ahead 3-0 going into the last half of the seventh when BBE was able to put four infield hits together to load the bases. Then a bloop single and a hard hit one hop double to the fence gave BBE the walk off win. We had control of the game from the start; defense was solid. We hit and ran the bases well. They just got four hits in the infield that barely made it past the pitcher’s mound to load them up, and a key hit help give them the win. This is the fourth straight one-run game we have had, winning one and losing three. We get these games and we win the conference. Kimball batting: Adam Magnuson 1-3 2 RBIs. Kurt Kuechle 2-3, Sam Scheeler 1-3 RBI. Record 3-12 May 10, 2007 Rockford 3 – Kimball 11 Travis Rose pitched a complete game by striking out eight and walking none. The Cubs played solid defense, turning another double play and ran the  bases smart and effectivly, having a team total eight stolen bases for the game. Kimball piled together 11 runs on 11 hits throughout the game.Kimball batting: Travis Rose 2-4 double 3 RBIs, Steve Lochen 3-3 triple 4 RBIs. Record 4-12 May 14, 2007 HLWW 1 – Kimball 7 Matt Dingmann pitched seven strong innings only giving up one run and four hits. Dingmann struck out nine in the conference win for the Cubs. We played an all around good game and are playing real good baseball going into playoffs. The bats are really coming alive and the guys are real aggressive on the bases. I think we can surprise some teams come playoff time. Kimball batting: Steve Lochen 2-3 RBI SB, Kurt Kuechle 1-1 DBLE, Ben Knaus 1-3 TRPL RBI, Jeff Hunt 1-3 DBLE 2 RBIS SB. Record: 5-8 conference, 5-12 overall  Up next Kimball travels to St. John’s for a nonconference game against St. Johns Prep on Friday, May 18. Nathan Schwieters, KAHS Head baseball coach
