Kimball Cubs played Mora in the second game of the Holiday Tournament Saturday, Dec. 15. The first half started out with both teams scoring in a tight game, the Cubs offense was led by Hunter Hickman who had 6 points in the first half. The game remained tight until late in the half, Mora was able to pull away from the Cubs. The Cubs went into the half trailing 19 to 28. In the second half, the Cubs came out and pressured Mora and were able to take the lead 35-34, thanks to tough defense by the Cubs led by Jack Knaus and Noah Young. Mora answered the Cubs run and took the lead back to 9 points. The Cubs were able to make a run of their own getting, and cut the lead down to 3 points, but that’s as close as the cubs came and they would fall, 58 to 51. Scoring for the Cubs included Jack Knaus 14, Logan Silbernagel 11, Noah Young 7, Hunter Hickman 6, Lucas Jansky 4, Riley Albers 3, David Bakers 3, Tyler Stang 2.
Kimball Cubs hosted Pact Charter Panthers Friday, Dec. 14, at the Kimball Holiday Tournament. The Cubs came out in the first half ready to play as they were able to force turnovers and score easy baskets. The Cubs were able to get scoring from seven different players and took a 45 to 13 lead into halftime. The second half the Cubs offense was able to score in the paint led by Simon Stang who had 8 points that all came from around the basket. The Cubs went on to win the game 69 to 34. Scoring for the Cubs included Logan Silbernagel 16, Jack Knaus 12, Hunter Hickman 9, Simon Stang 8, Noah Young 6, Matt Eich 4, Lucas Jansky 4, Tyler Stang 4, Skylor Gruba 4, David Baker 2.
Kimball Cubs played Eden Valley Watkins Eagles Tuesday, Dec. 11. The first half was a defensive battle. The Cubs were able to hold the Eagles to 3 field goals and take a 13-10 halftime lead. In the second half the Cubs got a big half from Logan Silbernagel as he scored 9 of his 11 points. The Cubs also were able to hit some big three pointers down the stretch of the game getting two from Jack Knaus and one each from Noah Young and Riley Albers. The Cubs were able to hold off the Eagles and win the game 36 to 29. Scoring from the Cubs was led by Logan Silbernagel 11, Riley Albers 9, Noah Young 8, Jack Knaus 6, Hunter Hickman 2.
Kimball Cubs took on Dassel-Cokato Chargers on Friday, Dec. 7. In the first half, both teams came out scoring trading baskets most of the first half. The Cubs were able to take a 29-18 lead into half. The second half the Cubs came out and shut down the Chargers. The Cubs were led by their tough defense forcing the Chargers to turn the ball over many times and turning those turnovers into points. Cubs’ defense held the Chargers to only 10 second-half points and got a balance scoring attack as eight different Cubs scored. A very good team effort from the Cubs as they win 62 to 28. Scoring for the Cubs was led by Jack Knaus 15, Noah Young 10, Logan Silbernagel 9, Riley Albers 8, Tyler Stang 7, Simon Stang 7, Hunter Hickman 4, Carter Lyrek 2.
