The Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Kimball on July 30. We had a goal of 60 units but fell short by two.
Several people were unable to donate because of a backlog of donors. There was a computer problem which put everything on hold. Several donors waited a long time, hopefully, we won’t have to experience that problem again.
Congratulations to our first time donors: Jessica Gageby and Lindsey Pramann. We would like to congratulate the following for milestone donations:
Mike Linn – 1 gallon
Bob Rossman – 2 gallons
Tommy Bowatz – 3 gallons
James Franzen – 6 gallons
Special thanks to our double-red cell donors: Laurence Blum, Eric Donnay, Bonnie Gannon, Joseph Lauermann, Willie Looman, Bill Thell and Jim Unterberger.
There were two incomplete units and two donors were deferred this time. Several people were not sure of their number of donations. The toll-free phone number is (800) 652-9742. Ask for Donor House Group. They will give you the exact amount of your donations. Please let our canteen workers know, so we can give you the Red Cross gallon pins for your service.
We would like to thank the following for their help with the Bloodmobile:
• Tri-County News for great coverage of the event.
• Kimball Area School District, Kimball Community Ed. and janitors for the host site and setup, etc.
• Volunteers for phone calls, registration and canteen workers.
• American Legion Auxiliary Kimball Unit 261 for providing and serving supper to the Red Cross and volunteer workers.
Everything did not go as smoothly as it has in the past, but some things are out of our hands.
Please remember the need for blood is constant.
The gratification is instant. You can give blood every 56 days.
Next Bloodmobile will be in Kimball Jan. 19, 2010.
Thank you,
LuAnn Marschel,
Bloodmobile Coordinator
American Legion Auxiliary
National Security Chairman
