Jan. 30, 2007 Kimball 59 – Pierz 73 On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the Kimball Cubs faced the Pierz Pioneers. Pierz jumped out to an early lead on their good perimeter shooting. They made five 3-pointers in the first half. The Cubs closed the gap by halftime and only trailed by seven at 38-31. Kimball started the second half outscoring Pierz nine-to-one and took a brief 40-39 lead.-The teams battled back and forth before Pierz closed out a 73-59 win. Jeff Hunt and Adam Magnuson led the Cubs in scoring with 21 and 12 points, respectively. Jeff Miller contributed five steals. Feb. 2, 2007 Kimball 45 – EVW 63 Friday night the Kimball Cubs hosted the Eagles from Eden Valley-Watkins. It was a great atmosphere in the Leo Wirth Gymnasium for this big rivalry and the teams did not disappoint the crowd early. The Cubs and Eagles traded baskets early and the Eagles led 20-17, with five minutes remaining in the half. The Eagles then went on a 13-0 run to end the half, leading 33-17. In the second half, the Cubs battled but could not get the lead under double digits. Eden Valley-Watkins handed the Cubs a 63-45 loss. Jeff Hunt led the team in scoring with 16 points. Adam Magnuson led the team in rebounding with 10 boards.
