The Cubs capped off a perfect week, after a Tuesday, Dec. 6, win over Upsala, a victory over Dassel-Cokato on Thursday, and a rout of Royalton on Friday. Kimball shot very well against DC, and despite an occasional lackadaisical defense, they prevailed, 87-70.
?ÄúWe did not defend well in the first half, giving up 39 points. One player for DC had six three-pointers. Our defense shored up in the second half, and offensively, we dealt out 27 assists and put four players in double figures,?Äù Coach Jay Klein said. Cubs?Äô Scoring: Darius Westrich 23; Del Guerrero 20; Hayden Gagnon 18; Noah Jurek 2; Drew Gustafson 16; Levi Sodergren 1; Weston Hine 2; Michael Hoffman 5.
Friday?Äôs game vs. Royalton ended in an 81-43 Kimball ?Äì convincing victory.
?ÄúWe jumped out to an early 15-2 lead. Del Guerrero had an incredible first half, drilling six three-pointers, and scoring 27 of our 47 points. We really played unselfish again, as our 21 assists attest. In the second half, we were able to get everyone a lot of minutes, a great way to wrap up the first week,?Äù said Coach Klein. Cubs?Äô Scoring: Darius Westrich 17; Jevonte Victor 2; Hunter Ahlrich 3; Del Guerrero 27; Hayden Gagnon 11; Noah Jurek 2; Drew Gustafson 9; Levi Sodergren 4; Weston Hine 4; Michael Hoffman 2.
