The Cubs were sharp on the hardwood last week, defeating Paynesville, 62-56 Tuesday, Feb. 8, and holding-off Holdingford, 47-44, on Friday.

Paynesville game

“We played very well. We were under control the whole night and really took care of the ball. We defended and rebounded well the whole game. Lucas Jansky took over in the second half and was unstoppable attacking the basket. This was a great win against a quality opponent,” remarked Coach Jay Klein. (Kimball led 30-28 at the half).

Holdingford game

“Holdingford came ready to play and made it a struggle for us all night long. We missed a lot of easy shots and turned over the ball way too much. We struggled making good decisions, which was surprising – coming off of a couple of big wins over the past two weeks. Luckily, we made a few big plays late in the game to seal the win,” Coach Klein said. (Kimball led 27-26 at the half).
