Kimball boys out-gunned at Holdingford

·

It is difficult to say which was colder last Friday night; the temperature outside or the Cubs?Äô shooting percentage inside. Either way, the game?Äôs result was rather harsh, as the final score read Holdingford 74, Kimball 59. Starting out slow, the Cubs found themselves down 10-0 before the crowd was completely settled. Following a much-needed timeout, Kimball re-grouped and cut the advantage to 14-11, before seeing the Huskers take a 36-26 lead at the halftime hiatus. The Cubs surrendered 10 offensive boards in the first half, and the second stanza was not much better, as Holdingford pulled away with a 15-point final margin.

?ÄúWe struggled in almost every facet of the game. Their physicality took a toll on us and it showed in the box score. I was very disappointed in our performance against a team with which we should be able to compete. We just did not show up tonight,?Äù said Coach Jay Klein. Cubs?Äô Scoring: Darius Westrich 11; Del Guerrero 10; Hayden Gagnon 8; Drew Gustafson 18; Weston Hine 4; Michael Hoffman 8.
