Thursday, Oct. 22, the Kimball Cubs varsity volleyball team defeated the Rockford Rockets in three sets to seal a second-place finish in the Central Minnesota Conference. The Lady Cubs also celebrated senior night by honoring their seniors for their hard work and commitment to the program. Seniors honored were Kelsi Woods, Maranda Theisen, Reana Orbeck, Kelly Mackereth, Chelsey Orth, Molly Hurrle, Rachel Lahr, Nicole Klein, Tesslynn Callander, and team manager Abby Zoller. The Cubs took the first set 25-14, the second set 25-15, and the last set 25-20. Stat leaders for the evening included Maranda Theisen with five aces, Molly Hurrle with four aces and 25 set assists, Steph Konz with nine kills, Kelly Mackereth with nine kills, and Tesslynn Callander with 10 digs. The Cubs will start playoffs Thursday, Oct. 29. Location is yet to be determined.
