The 37th annual Kimball Days festival is now history. The Kimball Days committee may be relieved it’s all done now, but they can all be commended for doing a great job. The committee includes Jayne Harff, Patty Decknatel, Mike Schindler, Dan Konz, Jenn Ludlow, Melinda Berscheid, Teresa Schiefelbein, and Tammy Konz. It takes a village to throw a fun festival, too. And whichever of you put in the weather request: great job! It was a bit warm and steamy, but no rain or winds, and no storms. Only the haze from wildfires in Canada impaired what would have been clear skies.
The Medallion Hunt began with Monday clues; it was found Friday.
Friday evening there was the Little Miss Kimball pageant, pedal tractor pull, and water ball.
Saturday was chock-full of activities, starting early morning with the Lions 5K/1K and ending with the street dance. Record numbers came out for the Kid Zone at St. Anne’s. The LA Pig Races were a big hit as well.
Sunday started with the Lions breakfast, and the car show at the high school. “Monster” Mike Schultz was selected this year’s grand marshal. He led the parade Sunday, and a grande day parade it was!
