Kimball Days were here!

·

August 10-12, 2001Three days of festivities for Kimball Days 2001 included fireworks, two parades, dances, tournaments, games, exhibits, a horse show, a car show, a craft fair, and lots of food throughout. The weather was ideal — not too hot nor too cold, not windy, not humid. By all accounts, both attendance and participation were up for all Kimball Days activities. Everyone had fun — even the hard-working group that organized everything.

There were some “firsts” in 2001: a display in City Hall by the Kimball Area Historical Society, a car show over by Bumper To Bumper and Ehlinger Insurance, and a demonstration by the Granite City Remote Control Flying Club — all were big hits.

Watch next week’s Tri-County News for more photos from Kimball Days 2001, along with Chris Jeppesen’s write-up.

Thanks to all who worked so hard to organize and prepare for Kimball Days 2001. And thanks to everyone who turned out to enjoy it and make it such a success!
