Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins golf improves at season’s end

Boys’ Sub-section north, Pebble Creek The K-EV-W boys’ team played well, placing 11th out of 15 teams, with a score of 371. Kimball’s low score was 91, shot by both Shawn Dahlinger and Luke Hinz. Kevin VanVleet had the next lowest score with 93, followed by Shawn Kummet with 96, Jason Huschle with 99 and Gary Peters with 102. The winner of the meet was Albany with a team score of 318. The medallist of this meet was John Evans of Albany, who shot a 73.  Girls’ Subsection North, Pebble Creek Krystal Mackereth had the low score for K-EV-W with 123. She was followed by Mary Deutsch with 127, Nicole Schulte with 131, Kristin Eisenreich with 134, Kelsey Hanson with 166 and Felicia Menson with 167. The winning team was New London-Spicer with 382. Boys’ CMC, Eagle Trace The K-EV-W boys’ golf team finished its CMC conference games on a positive note this year. They have been showing much improvement throughout the season and this meet was no exception. In this seven-team meet, K-EV-W finished fourth. K-EV-W’s low score was 41, shot by Luke Hinz. Kevin VanVleet was not far behind with 44, followed by Shawn Dahlinger with 45, Shawn Kummet with 48, Gary Peters with 49 and Jason Huschle with 51. The winning team for the meet was Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. Medallist was Jon Confeld from Howard Lake-Waverly with a 36. Girls’ CMC, Kimball The K-EV-W girls’ golf team ended its CMC conference season on great terms. Throughout the year, the girls have been working hard to improve their game and their efforts have been paying off. At this meet the girls took fifth out of six teams. Kimball’s low score was 55 by Nicole Schulte. She was followed by Annie Neisen with 58, Sone Bengston with 59 and Kelsey Hanson with 64. The winning team was Pierz with a team score of 194. The lowest individual score was 43, shot by both Logan Gerleman and Bree Eastlock of Rockford. This young girls team has a lot of promise for the future.
