Kimball falls to Luxemburg

The Luxemburg Brewers outhit and outscored the Kimball Express on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 14. The Brewers scored two runs in the second inning, and maintained their lead to the 8-1 finish.

Will Boeckman led the Brewers at bat. His home run in the second inning, plus a double and a single, and 5 RBI constituted the majority of their runs. Luke Schmidt also hit a double, and Reed Pfannenstein and Derrik Orth each hit a pair of doubles for 1 RBI apiece.

JT Harren takes the win in his 7 innings on the mound; he held the Express to 1 run on 3 hits, walked 6 and struck out 10. Reed Pfannenstein and Tyler Stang pitched in relief.

Matt Dingmann is tagged with the loss, allowing all 8 Brewers runs (including a home run) on 10 hits; he walked 1 and struck out 1. Skylor Gruba and Andy Dingmann pitched in relief.

The Express managed four -single hits and an RBI on the day.

Next up, the Express will host the St. Augusta Gussies at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21.

The Brewers play an exhibition game against the Cold Spring Springers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17. They travel to the Pearl Lake Lakers at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21.
