The Kimball FFA chapter has done very well with their Career Developing Event (CDE) teams this year. We have six different teams that have made it to the state level. These teams include the meats team who placed third, soils – sixth, general livestock – sixth, wildlife – fourth, dairy foods – sixth, and poulty – third. Each team competed at the regional level. These teams have been practicing very hard throughout the year. We had many individuals who did excellent and placed in the top ten. Nicole Konz placed fifth for the meats team, and Luke Deutsch placed sixth. Poultry had three who placed: Brandy Schiefelbein – seventh, Diana Donnay – ninth, and Erich Deutsch – 10th. Josh Kuechle placed sixth for the wildlife team. Steve Landwehr will receive the State Degree and a Forage Proficiency Award. The teams will compete at the Minnesota State Convention April 25-27. There are a total of 28 members from the Kimball FFA who will travel to the University of Minnesota for the convention. Another upcoming event is the Chapter banquet to be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 17, at Playland Ballroom in Kimball.
