Kimball fills vacant council seat

·

At its Jan. 9 regular meeting, the Kimball city council appointed Jody Orbeck to the vacant council seat, completing Alyshea Nelson’s term on the council after her resignation. Orbeck was the only person to express interest, and she had received 115 votes in the council election last November. She was not at the January meeting. Cindy Stelten acted as mayor in the absence of Karla Davis.

The council renewed the contract with Stearns County for police services for a term of two years.

The city made its obligatory appointments for city lawyer, bank, newspaper, and for committee assignments for council members.

Kimball council meetings are live-streamed on the city’s Facebook page, with videos available to view later. The next regular meeting of the Kimball city council will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6. There is a workshop scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, as well. Both meetings and workshops are open to the public. Workshops are designated for discussing various work topics for the council, with no decisions to be made during a workshop.
