Kimball Fire & Rescue partners with American Red Cross to host community blood drive

·

Kimball Fire & Rescue is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive on Monday, May 13, from 1-7 p.m. at Kimball Christian Church, located at 241 State Hwy. 55, Kimball.

To make an appointment to donate, please call Tom at (320) 250-2411 or visit redcrossblood.org.

According to the American Red Cross, blood is routinely transfused to patients battling cancer and other illnesses, premature infants, organ transplant recipients, and trauma victims.

“The short amount of time it takes to donate can mean a lifetime for a patient facing a serious medical condition. We urge all eligible donors to take part in this life-saving effort.”

Blood is a perishable resource that can only be provided by volunteer donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, it’s essential to continuously replenish the supply.

“We encourage community members to step forward and donate blood to help ensure local hospitals have the lifesaving resources they need – before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing your donation could give someone a second chance at life.”

All blood types are needed, but there is a critical need for donors with O negative, A negative, and B negative blood types.
