The Kimball Girl Scouts celebrated another fun and exciting year at their Court of Awards on Monday, May 23. The girls started out with a pot-luck and the traditional flag ceremony. Each girl pointed out their favorite activity they did this year. Some of the favorites were sleeping overnight at the Superior Zoo in Duluth, overnight at Camp Snoopy in Bloomington, having a sleep over at their leaders home, tour of the Wild Country 99 radio station, tour of Mom’s in South Haven, and overnight at the Monticello Community Center. The award ceremony with the Junior Troop 387 receiving the bronze award; the bronze award is the highest award a junior can earn. The troops Community Service Project was “Sharing is Caring.” The girls donated over 200 of their own stuffed animals to the mentally challenged campers at Camp Friendship. The Leadership Torch was handed out to Tara Mathiesen for her leadership with the Faith Formation class that she helped with last year. Brownie Troop 974 bridged to Junior’s and the Daisy Troop 83 bridged to Brownies. The Kimball Girl Scouts would like to thank all of those who help earn Try-it’s, badges and interest awards.
