Kimball girls’ basketball

·

Kimball hosted Eden Valley-Watkins on Thursday night; both teams were coming off of a loss in the Conference right before Christmas break. Kimball led eight minutes into the game 13-11, but never had the lead the rest of the game. We played hard and battled with them the first 10 minutes of the game, but fouls put them on the free throw line and that hurt us. Eden Valley-Watkins went 22 for 31 from the charity stripe. We are not as strong as most teams, so when we have to fight for a rebound or a loose ball we have to be more physical and that is what is getting us in trouble. The girls have come a long way from the begining of the year and are playing very well. They are being physical and are giving everything they got every night, that is all a coach and ask for. I am proud of the girls, they have a never quit attitude and that is something that you just can’t teach. Kimball was led in scoring by Brittnay Simmons 13 points, Krystal Mackereth ‘s 7 points and Mindy Hurrle added 3 points of her own. Kimball had 13 steals in the game, Hurrle had four of them. Rebounding was led by Briana Rosenow’s six and Mara Rippentrop and Felicia Mensen bothed pulled down four. Justine Ruehle grabbed three on the defensive end. Kimball (2-8 overall) was to travel to Holdingford   Tuesday, Jan. 9, for another tough conference game.  Parents night for Kimball will be on Friday, Jan. 12; please come out and help say “Thank You” to our parents who have shown a lot of dedication this year!
