Following a lot of action earlier in the week, Kimball took a trip to Eden Valley Thursday, May 8, to play another twin bill, only to get rained out forcing them to return on Friday. After letting Mother Nature have her way, the games were played, and the Cubs came away with a split decision, winning game one, 11-7, and dropping the nightcap, 10-3. In the opener, Kimball was only able to send two batters to the plate, before the game was suspended due to thunder and lightning. When Kimball traveled back to Eden Valley on Friday, the game started with runners on first and third and no outs. Kimball would go on to have 25 batters hit safely and capture the victory, 11-7, despite committing five errors. Game two was all EV-W, as Kali Covert kept the Kimball batters off balance, while the Cubs booted the ball around, allowing the Eagles to walk away with the 10-3 win.
