On the heels of a double-dip sweep of Holdingford on Monday, the Lady Cubs were right back at it on Tuesday, May 16. They took on Paynesville in a double-header, and came away with a split decision. Kimball won the first game, 12-8, and the Bulldogs took game two, 5-2.
Game 1
The game was tied at 8 with the Cubs batting in the top of the seventh when Natalie Loehrer homered on the first pitch, scoring two runs. Kimball was also boosted by Allie Leither who went 4-for-5 at the plate. Claire Maus was the winning pitcher, going six innings, allowing 14 hits and eight runs, while fanning seven and walking one. Riley Fischer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Game 2
Kimball stayed in it until the end, but Paynesville pulled away late in the 5-2 victory. The Dogs posted three runs in the top of the eighth, and that was all they needed. Riley Fischer took the loss for the Cubs.
