Idle time is not part of the Kimball softball team’s agenda. Playing their fifth game in four days, the Lady Cubs swept a double-header from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, on Kimball’s Senior Day, Saturday, May 13. Game one was 15-5, Cubs, and game two culminated in a 12-2 Kimball decision.
Game 1
The Kimball girls exploded in the opener of a two-matinee day last Saturday, May 13, topping Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, 15-5. Posting seven runs in the fourth inning, the Cubs featured clutch hitting by S. Winter, E. Schmitz, H. Arnold, A. Leither, and B. Stelten. Caity Krippner led Kimball to victory on the mound, surrendering five runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out three. Stelten and Winter launched round-trippers, in the first and fourth innings, respectively.

Game 2
The Kimball kids used the same bats from game one, and this time, they produced a dozen runs in the sweep-capper of the day. Claire Maus was stellar on the hill and earned the win. The Cubs’ hurler completed all seven frames, allowing eight hits and two runs, while striking out five and walking zilch. -Kimball blasted one home run on the day, via Natalie Loehrer’s “touch-em-all” trip in the fifth inning.
