Kimball Legion Auxiliary present 55-year membership pin to Pusc

·

On Friday, Jan. 31, Sixth District American Legion Auxiliary President Dori Hamilton, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 261 -President Carol Santone-Royal, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 261 Membership Chairman Renee Berscheid paid a visit to Claire Pusc. Claire was presented with a 55-year membership pin. We congratulated her and thanked her for her years of service with the American Legion Auxiliary and Unit 261 Kimball.

We had a very nice visit with Claire and she shared some history about Unit 261 with us. She had a couple of photos from 1972. It was of the first Teachers’ Tea held at the Kimball -American Legion Club during American Education Week. Joyce Connelly was President, and it was her idea to hold the Tea at the Legion Club. Irene Holen is in the photo with her. Before the Tea was held at the Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary would take apples to the Kimball Schools for the teachers during American Education Week. Now the American Legion -Auxiliary holds the Tea at the Kimball American Legion Club for all school personnel during American Education Week.

We really enjoyed our visit with Claire and thanked her for her years of service with the -American Legion Auxiliary and Unit 261 Kimball.
