Kimball Lions met March 17, the scheduled third Monday of the month. Meeting was held at the Kimball Rod & Gun Club with President Mike presiding. Secretary and Treasurer reports were accepted.
Old business was discussed with Pat D. leading with the needs for our elementary and high school for mid-year donation. Five backpacks were purchased for the high school, and each classroom teacher was allotted $20 for their classroom needs.
Our winter fish fry was a huge success, and we could not be more thankful for all those who turned out to support the club!
Dan K. was our volunteer that helped move boxes at the city hall for the remodel for the Historical Society. Hats off to you, Dan!
Update for the May 17 Golf Tournament that things are coming along nicely and right on time.
Mark your calendars for March 29 and the comeback of the EXPO held at the Kimball Area High School from 8 a.m. to noon, and breakfast is being served by the Kimball Methodist Church, you can count on them serving up a delicious breakfast for you so stop on in.
Presentation by Mary for the Kimball Area Friends of the Library, and the need for a toddler table and chairs for the library. Motion was made and carried to donate towards this need.
Onto new business. KidSight screening for preschoolers will be April 7 with member Dana handling that.
School of Fish discussion was tabled until the April meeting.
Discussion on the upkeep for the Kimball signs on the north, south, east and west entrances of Kimball, and the planters by the shelter. Motion was made to donate money for flowers to the members who are caring for these areas.
Officers for the 2025-2026 year were nominated and motion by Deanna, second by Pat D., Motion carried.
Mary will contact Kimball Historical Society about Supper in the Park at Kimball Days.
Deanna brought to the meeting the updated brochures, placemats, and upkeep for the vinyl Lions signs. We are so fortunate to have Deanna as part of our membership, she is young and knows technology, and is always willing to help with anything she has the time for. Motion to repay Deanna for supplies used to update these items by Pat D., second by Steve. Motion carried.
We will be back to the Kimball Willow Creek Lions Shelter in April.
