A University of Minnesota, Morris alumnus with a legacy of close campus ties has been named Director of Alumni Rela-tions and Annual Giving at UMM. Patrick J. Gannon will begin his duties at UMM on June 16. “We are pleased to welcome Pat to our UMM External Rela-tions team,” said Madeline Maxeiner, UMM associate vice chancellor for external relations and director of fund development. “We look forward to harnessing Pat’s considerable energy and enormous expertise in our work with alumni relations and fundraising efforts.” Gannon, a biology major who graduated from UMM in 1970, is president of Gannon Consulting Group in Winneconne, Wis. Prior to that he was vice president of human resources of Werner Electric Supply Company in Neenah, Wis., and, for 26 years, held similar positions with the Brunswick Corporation in Lake Forest, Ill. where he was responsible for planning, creating, implementing, and evaluating the company’s succession planning executive and organizational development, and training programs. “My dad always said ‘you’ve got to give back,’ so I am eager to continue to give back to this institution that has given me an outstanding liberal arts education,” said Gannon. “I look forward to encouraging other alumni to become reunited and involved with their campus as well.” Pat is a long-time volunteer leader for UMM’s alumni relations and fundraising efforts. He founded the campus’ Alumni Career Fair in 1988, and has participated in several fundraising projects and reunions. He was instrumental in raising funds to furnish the Student Center, has hosted two UMM alumni events in Chicago, and organized several reunions of the Phi Mu Delta fraternity. He is a recipient of the UMM Outstanding Leadership Award and a charter member of the Presidents Club. A native of Kimball, Pat and his wife, Barbara, have four daughters: ErinJean, who at-tended UMM and is married to UMM alumnus Chad Litton; Tiffany, Amanda, and Sarah, who has just completed her freshman year at UMM. Pat and Barb are the proud grandparents of two future UMMers, Philip and Patrick Litton. Gannon replaces Alumni Director Vivian Heltemes, who will leave UMM June 2 to pursue other career interests.
