Kimball police officer Brian Stiles was injured early Saturday evening, June 14, on his way to assist a stranded pick-up truck on Highway 55. A Ford pickup truck traveling 35-40 mph T-boned Stiles and the squad car on the highway. “I was on the shoulder of the road,” Stiles said Monday. “I looked in my side mirror and all I saw was sun. Next thing I knew, I was kissing my door pretty hard.” The couple in the truck was not injured, and Stiles’ injuries were minor. “Hopefully I should be back at work by Monday,” Stiles said. The squad car did not fare as well, and will require about $4,200 in repairs. According to Stiles, the vehicle should be back on the road within 1-2 weeks. An accident report was filed with the county, as is standard procedure. “My pride is what hurts the most,” Stiles said. “Cops don’t get into accidents, they just don’t.”
