At its May 2 regular meeting, Doug Host of CliftonLarsonAllen presented the audit results for the City of Kimball. One finding was that the city has lots of policies and there is a need to update them.
John Steinmetz of Styme Industries came to discuss plans for his business expansion. With new partners, they plan to add manufacturing space and robotic welding, at a cost of more than $1 million. The expansion is expected to add 10-15 jobs to the 17-year-old business. Steinmetz specifically requests rezoning, vacation of a utility easement, adjustment of set-back, Tax Increment Financing (TIF), and deed resolution. The council agreed that they will need more detail than a simple building drawing before proceeding on some of these issues.
The city attorney reviewed the solar garden CUP update. The city is not interested in the other proposal, fromSolar Stone, at this time.
Kathleen Stanger?Äôs bid for cleaning city hall and Willow Creek Park shelter was accepted.
The city discussed and approved a cooperative bidding agreement.
The council held a special meeting May 9 to review job applicants for the Public Works and Deputy Clerk openings.
The next regular meeting of the Kimball city council will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6.
