Despite placing 10 wrestlers the Cubs did not have a State Entrant. The Cubs did wrestle very well with many placing higher than their seeds. Jacob Kieke (103) went 3-2 for fourth place; Andrew Huhn (112) went3-3 for sixth place; Gary Salmela (125) went 1-3 for sixth place; David Dahnke (130) went 2-2 for fourth place; Erich Deutsch (135) went 2-2 for fifth place; Dan Barthel (140) went 3-1 for third place Chris Barthel (145) went 4-2 for fifth place; Jeremy Dahnke (152) went 3-1 for third place; Ryan Nutter (215) went 1-2 for fourth place Peter Jonas (275) went 2-2 for fourth place. Some key matches were losses by Dan Barthel and Jeremy Dahnke in the semi-finals. Dan lost in the final seconds of the match and Jeremy lost a close match. Gary Salmela and Peter Jonas wrestled as long as they could with sore shoulders before both had to injury default. The younger wrestlers wrestled some of their best matches of the year. All the wrestlers should be congratulated for their fine effort all year long.
