The Kimball School Board held their April 19 board meeting at 6 p.m.
The board increased custodial time, acknowledged a teacher resignation, accepted two paraprofessional resignations, and hired two paraprofessionals. Two science teachers were approved for next school year. Extended contracts were approved for guidance and FFA co-advisors.
The principals reported on plans for a Spanish trip for summer 2024, proposal to compete with PSEO classes, and enrollment numbers for next year. Coming up are Volunteer Appreciation Week, Foster Grandparent Program, Jr. Achievement Program, field trip chaperones, Teacher Appreciation Week, Administrative Assistants Day, Severe Weather Week, Elementary Book Fair, Elementary spring music program, ESY and Targeted Services programs, Ag Day, and 5th-grade graduation. The year will end with a school picnic.
Superintendent Widvey gave a construction update, an update on the backstop project, possibility of abatement bonds for parking lots, and upcoming negotiations.
The board accepted a transfer of the remaining bus contract to a new vendor, adopted the resolution reducing one FTE teacher, increased part-time elementary PE position from .5 to .604, and held a closed session.
