Good day Kimball. We finally have a stretch of weather for the puddles to dry up and the farmers to get out in the fields to turn the soils. This week looks to be the first week of spring where we do not have to reschedule or cancel any activities. The students are gearing up for a busy spring with field trips and spring sports battling for position in the playoffs soon.
This week marks the end of an incredible career here in the school district. As it was announced last week in Facebook, our long time choir director, Arlene Sands, has decided to retire. She has worked for the district for over 33 years. During that time, she has instructed thousands of students, not including the students she worked with outside of school. Her work and talent as a choir teacher has been incredible to watch for me these past three years. I have watched her excitement working with students of all ages including my own her in Kimball. Her legacy will last forever as her mark and commitment to the fine arts in Kimball will live on. If you get a chance to come out and see her last concert Monday, May 15, at the high school, I am sure it will be spectacular. The concert starts at 7 p.m. in the north gym with grades 4-6. Thank you Ms. Sands for all you have done for the students and community of Kimball.
We have finally completed this year?Äôs testing cycle for the MCA testing. The students worked hard and did a tremendous job on the tests. It looks to be another successful year for our students as they continue to achieve higher and work towards being on the top. A big thanks to the teachers and para professionals to be flexible and helping to get all of the students through. Their hard work does not go unnoticed. It is a team effort by all to accomplish the success they are having. Hats off to all involved. Thank you.
As the school year is winding down, the students are working on many projects. Don?Äôt forget to take some time to just enjoy life and smell the flowers during this busy time. Some of the simplest things in life can bring the biggest rewards. Have a great weekend, take care, and GO CUBS!
