Kimball Schools Update

By Erik Widvey, Superintendent

Hello from Kimball Area Public Schools! We are excited to be back and working with students and look forward to a fantastic school year.   Monday, Sept. 24, marked the start of week five for students. I’d like to thank all staff, students, and families for a fantastic opening to the 2018-2019 school year. From our open houses to the first day of school, we have been excited to welcome back students. Their smiles and laughter are great to have back in our classrooms and buildings. As of Friday, Sept. 21, the fall season has officially arrived. With its appearance, homecoming week is upon us.

The week officially kicked off on Sunday (Sept. 23) evening with coronation. I’d like to congratulate the homecoming court as well as our king and queen, Mike Lochen and Madilyn Fox, for representing not only your class, but all of your peers in a truly regal fashion. The tradition of dress up days, chosen by the student body, began in earnest in both buildings on Monday, Sept. 24, and will continue through Friday, Sept. 28.

The homecoming activity day will take place on Friday, Sept. 28, as well, with junior and senior boys playing volleyball in the morning and junior and senior girls playing powder puff football in the afternoon.  In addition, our fall activities will be competing this week. Cross Country competes in Paynesville on Tuesday, Sept. 25, Volleyball hosts BBE on Thursday, Sept. 27, and Football plays Royalton on Friday, Sept. 28.

We hope to see current students, alumni, families and community members turn out in large numbers in support of the participants. Have a great week, cheer loud, support your students, and Go Cubs!
